1. Install the macOS VST3
JDMeet Crusher requires macOS 11 or newer and a VST3-compatible DAW. The download contains both Apple Silicon and Intel code. Your DAW may require a newer macOS version than the plug-in itself.
- Close your DAW and download the installer from the official JDMeet Crusher page.
- Open the .pkg file and complete the macOS installer. The package is signed and notarized.
- Reopen your DAW. The installed effect is named JDMeet Crusher.
The installer places the bundle at /Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST3/JDMeet Crusher.vst3. In Finder, choose Go → Go to Folder and enter /Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST3/ to check it. There is no standalone application to open in this download.
2. Find JDMeet Crusher in Ableton Live
- Open Live's Settings or Preferences → Plug-Ins.
- Enable Use VST3 Plug-In System Folders, then rescan if the effect has not appeared.
- Search for JDMeet Crusher in the Plug-Ins browser and drag it onto an audio track or after an instrument.
You do not need a custom VST2 folder for this installer. The native Apple Silicon slice can load in a native Apple Silicon host. Ableton's Mac plug-in guide explains system folders and supported formats.
3. Find JDMeet Crusher in FL Studio for Mac
- Open Options → Manage plugins. In versions where it is nested, use Options → File settings → Manage plugins.
- Run Find installed plugins with Verify plugins enabled. For an update, include previously verified plug-ins in the rescan.
- Find JDMeet Crusher in the installed effects and add it to a Mixer effect slot. Mark it as a favorite if you want it in your usual effect menu.
These steps follow Image-Line's plug-in installation guidance. The published JDMeet package is for macOS; it cannot be installed into FL Studio for Windows.
JDMeet Crusher is not showing up: what to check
Confirm the file and format first
If the VST3 bundle is absent from the folder above, run the official installer again. If it is present, check that your host scans VST3 system folders. Enabling only Audio Units or VST2 will not discover it.
Rescan after installation or an update
Restart the host, then rescan. If Live still cannot find it, follow Ableton's missing plug-in checklist. In FL Studio, verify the plug-in and rescan previously verified effects when updating.
Logic Pro, GarageBand and Pro Tools
This download is VST3 only, so it will not appear as an Audio Unit in Logic Pro or GarageBand, or as an AAX effect in Pro Tools. Rescanning cannot convert the format. Use a compatible VST3 host.
Old CamelCrusher sessions
JDMeet Crusher is an independent effect with a different plug-in identity. It does not automatically restore a missing CamelCrusher instance. Keep a copy of your old session and add JDMeet Crusher in a new effect slot when recreating a sound.
Installer number versus plug-in version
The current installer and plug-in both report 0.1.5. Use the current download button to avoid reusing a previously downloaded package. Older shared links remain available. Close your DAW before updating, install the official package, then reopen the host and rescan if needed. Check the version inside the plug-in and the current release notes.
A macOS warning or scan error
The official package is notarized; you should not need to disable Gatekeeper. Download a fresh copy if it is damaged or the transfer was interrupted. If a warning or scan failure persists, keep the exact message and contact JDMEET support with your macOS version, Mac processor and DAW version.
4. Make your first sound
Load a short loop at a comfortable level and start with British Clean. Increase Tube for progressive drive or Mech for a harder texture, then use the filter to shape the top end. Match the output level before deciding whether the processed version helps. Use Mix to blend the effect with the dry sound, but compare intermediate blends against fully wet in mono: dry/wet does not automatically mean phase-aligned. The effect is not a true-peak safety limiter; keep the output within the requirements of your next stage.
