JDMEETJOHN DMITRIEV

John Dmitriev was born in Yaroslavl, Russia. He entered music school at six, beginning with piano before moving toward string instruments and guitar. At the city’s Kancona School of Arts, he also sang in the choir—the first place where melody, discipline and performance became part of his everyday life.

He left the school after three years and found a different route into music at the Palace of Youth, where he learned drums in a children’s jazz orchestra. Soon after, he formed the band Apatia with school friends, playing lead drums across punk-rock and grunge shows, local concerts and festivals.

In the mid-2000s, the same group of friends began producing electronic music on a computer using an early version of FruityLoops / FL Studio. Dmitriev was drawn to broken rhythm rather than straight beats. The Prodigy, The Chemical Brothers and Fatboy Slim supplied the electronic impact; Nirvana, Sex Pistols, Blink-182, Green Day, The Offspring, Papa Roach, Linkin Park and Limp Bizkit brought the raw energy of punk, grunge and nu metal. Alongside breakdance-era crews such as The Boogie Crew, those influences fed into a private archive of unreleased breaks demos.

Those folders never disappeared. In recent years, Dmitriev returned to them, finished old ideas and began releasing music actively as JDMEET—a name drawn from John Dmitriev himself. The tempo and language have changed, but the instinct is the same: drums first, physical energy, no distance between performer and crowd. Today JDMEET produces and plays Hard Dance Music (HDM), spanning hard techno, hardstyle and hardcore.
