A filter plugin for hard-techno transitions

Shape the sweep

CUT offers high-pass, low-pass, band-pass and notch recipes. Each preset sets a different response, rather than changing only its name.

Choose your layers

Switch CUT, ECHO, SPACE, AIR, BEND, RISE, JET and PULSE independently. Their level controls let you adjust a preset to the material playing through it.

Automate the transition

Draw an Intensity ramp in your DAW. Frequency and level changes are smoothed; returning to zero restores the dry signal after a short release.

How to build a sweep with Intensity

Load Filter on an audio channel or bus, choose a preset and start at zero Intensity. Play the track, raise Intensity and disable any modules you do not need. Automate the same control for the transition.

AIR is an input-following filtered-noise effect, not a high-shelf EQ. Turn AIR off when you want a sweep without added noise. RISE adds tonal layers. These are deliberate effects; they should not sound on an initially silent input.

INSTALLATION

Install JDMeet Filter on Mac

macOS 11 or newer, Apple Silicon or Intel, and a VST3-compatible DAW such as FL Studio or Ableton Live. This download does not include Windows, AU or AAX; Logic Pro does not load VST3 directly.

  1. Save your session and quit your DAW. Download and open the installer; macOS may request an administrator password.
  2. The existing disk path stays /Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST3/JDmeet Filter.vst3. This updates the same plugin instead of creating another identity.
  3. FL Studio: reopen FL Studio, then open Options → File settings → Manage plugins. Enable Verify plugins and run Find installed plugins. After an update, include previously verified plugins in the rescan. Look under Plugin database → Installed → Effects for JDMeet Filter; add it to a Mixer effect slot, not an instrument channel.   4. Ableton Live: reopen Live and open the Plug-ins panel in its settings/preferences. Enable VST3 System Folders for the standard location above, then wait for scanning to finish. Find JDMeet Filter in the Browser’s Plug-ins category and add it after the sound source. Do not set the system VST3 folder as a custom folder. See Ableton’s macOS plug-in setup guide.
  5. If the effect is still missing in Live after checking its location and compatibility, Option-click Rescan for a full rescan and wait for it to finish. Ableton’s missing plug-in checklist explains the additional checks. This is troubleshooting guidance, not a guarantee for every host version.
  6. Once the effect is visible, start playback on a channel carrying audio, choose a preset and follow the workflow above. Appearing in a scan and processing audio are separate checks. Keep a backup of sessions made with earlier versions before updating.

Release 1.0.2

This update smooths performance-control transitions and removes the limiter’s previous automatic gain increase. The limiter is a sample-peak guard, not a true-peak mastering limiter. Filter also uses a quieter, input-following AIR layer.

Audio regression and VST3 host tests check defined behaviours and stability. They do not guarantee that every preset suits every track or that every version of every DAW has been tested.
